Instant throttle response -
Liken it to Dell Ortos with accellerator pumps -
you snap open the throttle = big dollops of fuel get squirted in instantly = instant takeoff .
GS fuel pressure regulator = 3 bar
K1200 pressure regulator = 3.5 bar

my experience of dellorto pumper carbs is that it's nearly impossible to tell if the pumps are even working

Take them off the inlet stubs, look into the carb body, and twist the throttle.
if your eyes sting, and you can't see for a few days, the one you tested is ok.
When your sight returns, repeat procedure for the other side
You will then be classed as a Dellorto jedi
that's how i found out that one on my le mans wasn't working, couldn't tell by riding it.

Is fitting a K1200RS fuel pressure regulator to your GS simple? Sounds great and i'd be up for trying it on my Adventure - unfortunately I don't know where it is - is it in the tank or under the seat somewhere? I might try it on my HP2 as well ... you never know ....

Cookie, I can assure you that mine Definitely work
20 mph 2nd gear, hit throttle
and the bloody wheel goes skyward and my arse slides back on my 90s on my old 90/6 it just accelerated in an orderly fashion
still rather quick tho'

Would it not be simpler to look through the Carb from air filter end and squirt Ants on the pavement???

At the risk of being branded a smart arse, I think the fuel pressure reg' on a 1200GS is already a 3.5 bar jobbie.
As to testing dellsnorto pumps, I suggest the possibility of some kind of son-e-luminare would be more entertaining. If a small pilot light were arranged at the downstream end of each the carb' then testing could be done to the accompanyment of your favourite rousing tune with fiery jets of burning petrol spewing alternately from each side. This too would be beneficial in reducing the ant population and impress the neighbours, at least until the flames took hold of their Mondeo.
