Why not stick with the level they already have and make it all work properly?

That goes for basic bike components as well as the electronics but the problem then would be that nobody would get rid of their bike if it did everything they wanted and never had any issues.

My 2018 GS' electronics work perfectly. My 2014 worked perfectly.

How about the basics like spokes staying tight in the wheels?

I’m not anti BMW but there’s no way I’d buy a new Boxer GS until their reliability issues have been resolved and not by simply replacing the bike with another unproven version.

Yep .... that’s why I jumped ship I will never go back to BMW until they resolve the very clear issue they have with consistent quality control.

Never had a loose spoke on my 2.5 year old bike and 25,000klms. What's next on your list?

Maybe Honda should stop selling Africa Twins because they had some rusty spokes. What about the false neutral issue on the new Fireblade?

Maybe Yamaha should stop selling the R1 because of the transmission recall they had.

Maybe Suzuki should stop selling the new GSX-R1000R because of the transmission issues on that bike

Maybe Kawasaki should stop selling the ZX10R because of the transmission issues on that bike

It’s not just one thing but if you’re happy then that’s great. I wouldn’t spend my money on one because in my opinion they’re unreliable and suffer from dodgy build quality.

Spoked wheels are for dirt bikes. Which is why I have cast wheels....

So..why are you posting in a BMW forum? I just don't get it....

What's the point of shit caning BMW in a BMW forum?

Because we all joined when we had GSs and have stayed because it’s a good place . Just a shame that BMW have gone in the direction they have .

Sorry been on a trip , around 1000 , still could not get on with it , sorry if this does not sit well with you .

It makes no odds to me what you ride, but 1000 miles is hardly enough miles to get to know a bike, especially when you’ve probably done many multiples of that on the GS.

I ran my Rallye alongside my 1290 for the first 5000 miles, and had several moments where I’d have got rid of the KTM & kept the GS, but then everything fell into place on it. All joking and piss taking aside, it’s a shame you didn’t stick with it, as it sounds like the more suitable bike for your style of riding.

He’s not “shit caning” as you put it. He, like everyone else posting here has owned several GS’s. I’m still here, as there’s a good chance that one day I’ll own another GS, as would quite a few others that have left the brand. But not until BMW get their act together.

This is a forum. If seeing both sides of a debate upsets you, there’s no need to reply.

The difference is that some members just come in here to post utter shit.
