Who says I'm happy that way things are going ?
I'm not happy about outsourcing and making cheap parts in china while still charging made in germany prices !
I like the R Nine T a lot but I said not offering a centerstand, factory hard luggage and ESA and ditching TL while putting tubed wheels on in the year 2018 is not making me happy.Otherwise it would be the perfect BMW as I love the aircooled boxer.
Also why all the added complexity of water-cooling for a miserly 15 hp more. Now more mechanical wizardry and only 137 hp while the competition south of the alps offers a real 150 hp on the dyno. That does not make me happy either.
Of course 137hp/140NM if these are the final numbers are nothing to laugh at but some real top-end horsepower would add some excitement and top-speed !
Also where is a reasonably light (220Kg),powerful (150hp/140Nm) Sport boxer that is good looking, fun to ride and can be equipped with hard bags and centerstand for the yearly holiday trip that would inject some excitement in the boxer line like last the R1100S did when it came out almost 20 years ago ?
Or where is the 17 inch version of the GS set up right from the factory without any ground clearance or stability issues if you do it yourself ?
And of course a decent tool kit like in the old days would be appreciated,too...
Quality, reliability, ease of maintenance and practicality for people that actually RIDE are all part of the BMW brand and I think the GS represents these values still the best from all motorcycles !
The Japanese have no clue anymore how to make desireable motorcycles.KTM's look like shit and have reliability/stability issues.Triumph,booring.H-D.overpriced boat ankers for clowns & pretenders.Ducati typical Italian ;Nice but fragile for people with deep pockets and posers who want to be like Dovi or Lorenzo or in the old days Foggy...
I hope BMW finds back to their old brand values while still making the best sportbikes
