I've owned numerous BMWs.
Just disappointed in the direction they have taken and slightly amazed that people like Boxerlust are happy to fund the relentless downgrading of the quality and testing.

I really don't understand why WBM are chasing more power, other than as a marketing tool :nenau

Does a bike like the GS need any more poke? Smoother fuelling, fatter mid, a bit more torque low down maybe but more peak bhp :nenau

Yeah, latest worldwide sales figures for the GS reeks of desperation(#failingbmw)... They are scrambling to find ways to make this obscure platform relevant again... Nowadays they just blindly follow other makes trends...

It would for sure not be that way if Steve Jobs was still around!
 
From what I haven been told the TFT screen will come as standard , and the best bit , now comes with a 3 year warrentee which I think shows commitment to the quality issues some have had . To me that’s a total winner for price of mind . Makes you feel the great backup given by the factory is now even better I don’t think any other manufacturer offers that .

Guys from a tech company were at the Dealers at the weekend trying a Helmet with Head up Display linked to the TFT

Seems to me that you like to dish it out but you do seem to have a pathological hatred of BMW and any body who prefers them, and anybody who pushes back is subject to your vitriol.

I think it is you who has issues and I do wonder sometimes if you manage to hide them when pilot screening comes round. I do hope you manage to suppress them when you have a load of what I'm sure you refer to as Self Loading Freight, sat behind you at 33000 feet.

Like I said , I’ve owned many BMWs over many years but am not currently enamoured with what they are offering . I’m not tied to one manufacturer unlike some who seem to have some weird allegiance.

And what is this pilot screening that comes around ? Is it in the back of an ice cream van ? Should I be worried ?

I have to say I find it quite interesting what your latest bike is and reading your tour reports and I wish I had the cash and the time to own and ride more than 1 bike but fuck me it is getting a bit tedious you constantly slagging off BMW !
 
IMHO, I would rather BMW lean towards driveability and reliability (and ease of maintenance) rather than sacrifice either to get up to above 150+ hp like KTM and Ducati are doing. 135 to 140 hp and some additional torque sounds like a reasonable compromise to me. If they can get the weight down a bit, too, that would get me talking to a dealer at least.
 
Well if they end up dropping the shaft and boxer engine, there is already some serious weight gone, put a lighter muffler on, that would be a fair few kilos shred, just my opinion.
