Had the 6000mile service yesterday (6500miles done in total) and as you'd expect fairly routine as it's just an oil change and inspection but they did note that there was some "lipping" on the rear disc that needs to be monitored. Not something I've ever had on any other bike including both the 1250's I had so time will tell, it'll probably be back in for it's 12000mile service in about October/November so hopefully it hasn't got any worse.

They also did a software update which hopefully will have fixed the intermittent poor starting issue, fingers crossed!

Not sure how I feel about the gel stickers on the silver side panels, I had them professionally wrapped in black and the first time the bike got hot and I rode it at speed the wrap softened and peeled off.....

Rear brake pads ok ?

Rear brake pads ok ?
They didn’t mention the pads to be fair. Last time I checked they had plenty of meat on them. They also stuck it on the MOT and checked everything was braking correctly so I’ll have to wait and see.

Do you have Radar ?

6000 mile service completed. New rear pads required, none in stock!!!
I dont wonder they're out of stock if there only lasting for these type of mileages !Brake pads, adds a whole new dimension to the servicing costs.
Something's a miss how can 1 bike do 20,000 miles and another only 4,800,6,000 in your case!
So if your rode your bike like it was stolen ( Stick) I see why they would only last 800 miles, however I dont! Dealer wasn't interested when I had a moan.

Certainly looks like a trend is forming on bikes with this radar!!

Did they say how much wear was left in the pads (in mm) just so you know they're not exaggerating. Think they only have about 4 or 5mm when new.

The quote from the technician was “Almost down to the metal”. I tend not to take chances with brakes so as I am having the tyres I wore out on my NordKapp trip replaced next week, I’ll get the pads done then

1mm left on mine !

Just measured my rear pads. I've now done 4775miles total and there's 2.4mm pad depth left. I also have a brand new pair of rear pads from my 1250. They are the same shape pads as I have compared them with the ones in the 1300.
The new ones have 4mm friction pad depth.
So, not an excessive rate of wear in 4775miles; 4mm down to 2.4mm.

I like to think of myself as not a slow rider (don't we all :-) ), but don't use the rear brake on its own excessively. Most of the wear will be from the linked brake system.

Had 6700 service done today £74 for new rear pads .they also fitted new suspension front and rear .and a new hydraulic pump no cost .as the auto lowering was playing up.the only dislike is the comfort seat is crap . After 4 hours its painful

New suspension, fook me ,I just got a software update to hopefully cure my adaptive height issue.
No cost,we're you expecting to pay for it ?

Because you blithering fool....it uses the back brake to slow the bike down when the vehicle in front slows

Seeing as the adaptive cruise control is linked to the BRAKING SYSTEM

HHHEEELLLLOOOO
Actually no, it lets off the throttle. If however you are approaching a vehicle at high enough speed and needs to slow faster then it will apply the brakes. But not enough to cause any noticeable wear. You'd have to be coming up on cars very fast dozens of times a day to cause premature wear
