accelerator thingy

just paypall'd my order.....cant wait to fit it to my black beauty 1150gsa will give report soon as.

ordered one but waiting for it to arrive.

Question regarding services - does it need to be removed before service at a bmw dealer? Bike out of warranty now but will it affect the 'tune up' when on the computer at the dealers?

Thanks

Hi,

It is really up to you. It doesn't matter for the BMW service.

Finally got around fitting my accelerator to the HP2

All I can say is WOW  The low down torque and instant throttle response is unbelievable. The change is very noticable and I ride my bike every day so used to every little creak and wobble on my bike. Not sure how much difference it would make in HP on a dyno but all I can say worth every penny it cost :thumb2

Will give an update on fuel consumption to see if it is significantly better or worse........erm or the same :D

Thanks Mavn good product at a great price :beerjug:

Impressive

Followed this thread with interest and took the plunge last week. Prompt service and I was very impressed when the package arrived. Looks like any other BWM OE kit, good instructions simple to fit (5 mins) and the most important thing.....Yes it really does work.

For me the most noticeable difference is the bottom end where fuelling was typically lumpy and snatchy. Now between 2.5K and 4.5K the bike pulls and surges ahead almost as strong and seamlessly as it does above 4.5k To be fair I haven't run the bike long enough to provide any comprehensive feedback on MPG etc. but impressions so far:thumb2

is this a lesser complicated version of the teclusion unit?
My bike 1100GS non lambder .

The teclusion turnes yer injetors into like a carb set up.
low ,mid and top end can be individualy dialed in.

Nope.:nenau The Teclusion PC is a totally different animal, and is more akin to the Power Commander. Which is fully customisable.

This sounds like a great way to get round the inherent leaning-off that BMW have to put into their fuel maps to meet emission/noise regulations. Am I correct in thinking that this is what you have achieved?
Will the same product work on the new twin cam 1200 GS engine? Is the same part interchangable? (Sorry for all the questions)
..If so then you can put me down for one.

accelerator thingy

been out a couple of times now,MUCH better response , especially between 4000-5500 rpm theres life in the old girl yet! black 1150 gsa's were always the the quickest anyway! thanks mavn.

Just waiting on mine to arrive and we'll see if it makes a difference to my '99 1100. One question I do have is: when hooning in temperatures above 30C the bike often has very little more to give when you open the throttle, do you think this will help ?

I was sceptical aswell, but..... it does work.

The torque at the bottom of the rev range around town is hugely improved. Typically when I used to change down to 2nd it now pulls like a train in 3rd.

Money well spent for me :thumb2

Rode 80 miles today. In one word... SMOOTHER.

It would be nice to somehow wire up a switch to the unit to be able to turn it on and off on the fly.

But why would you want to switch it off:confused:

Module

Well i took a chance and i have to say on ride to work this morning was well impressed. The bike seems so much more eager. Trouble is i gas it everywhere and fuel comsumtion down now, but i am sure that will change in time. Change to 2010 model a HUGE expense, or spend £30 on this gizmo.......it seems brilliant!:thumb
