Adventure Demo Ride - Underwhelmed

Test ride a KTM 1190 Adventure.
Sign the cheque.
Then, ride it home.
Or pick up a good used 2012 or earlier F800GS that was owned by someone who hardly used it and invest in making it what you want with suspension upgrades and tires.
Change the gearing to the F650GS gearing. Set it up for you, all the pieces are available, just get one cheap and then throw some moey at it.

Don't want or need 150bhp and don't think the KTM has the reputation if a friends rusting 2yr old SMT is anything to go by. There seems to be a lot of low mileage ones for sale which doesn't bode well.

As for the F800GS, I don't see the point in buying something that isn't an improvement on the TDM and then "throwing money" at in the hope I will like it. I'll just end up with a very well specd bike that stands me at £3K more than it's worth. I'd be better off buying the overpriced but better V-Strom 1000 and accepting the heavy depreciation.
