I've just bought an Airhawk DS for longer trips away, and am sure it has a dodgy valve, as it's going completely flat when I sit on it, then filling with air when I stand up!

I've done the valve up as tight as possible, but it's still "breathing", and is completely useless in its current state.

Am I doing something wrong with the valve, or does it sound like its faulty? When I bought it from the dealer, they couldn't get the valve undone, so used a pair of pliers to undo it, so has that caused the problem?:nenau

I wouldn't try and fix it, get it replaced, it does not need to be screwed really tight to work.

Sounds like it's faulty to me. Back to the dealer and keep the replacement away from the muppet with the pliers.

Either that or it's not actually an Airhawk. Is it red and does it make a funny sound when you sit on it?

Thanks chaps, I didn't think it seemed right!

I bought it from Bahnstormer, and won't be able to get back there before I go away on Thursday, so they're sending another one to me by courier, and told me to drop the faulty one in when I get back.:thumb

If you haven't used one before they are fantastic although take a few miles to get used to. Just make sure you don't over inflate it, it's surprising how little air they need in them to be effective.
