Apologies before I start however returned from work tonight to find the bike on it's side...... no damage due to heavy cover, cylinder protectors etc. There was about an eggcup of the blackstuff on the pavement coming from the black clip-on under protector........................Here's the silly!.........will the oil thats accumulated find its way back?

Thanks
David

From the pavement back into the engine :nenau

A bit vague David ...

But as long as you're only talking about an egg cup full - ignore it. Check the level in the sight glass and top up if necessary.

If the bike had on its side for some time there may be a danger of "hydraulic lock" caused by oil seeping past the piston and accumilating in the combustion chamber, hitting the starter if the pistons on its way to compression stroke could bend a con-rod, because oil dont compress, if in doubt remove plugs and spin engine over to clear cylinders :thumb2
