Guys
I've had my bike stolen last night from my garage and they took the lot panniers, top box sat nav etc.

It is a white GS registration MK65 ENV if anybody sees or hears anything please. I've only had it a few months, I'm absolutely gutted.

Thanks JJ

This is becoming a regular thing now so stand by for the was it chained brigade

Gutted for you as it isnt just the loss it it is the violation you will be no doubt feeling too

Is it just me, or are we seeing a theft epidemic emerging with the late 1200 GSs.

Has someone infiltrated the Mothership's Owner database?

Mine is only a baby F650GS Twin, but I still found myself nudging the car right up against the garage door last night.

terrible news - hope the bike is recovered in good order and the thieves are duly dispatched to the afterlife.

these things make me remember a friend from long ago who fitted one of those "blank shotgun cartridge" garage alarms, where when the garage door or item is moved from the garage without disabling the device, it sets off the 12gauge blank shell. I always remember this because my friend fitted live shotgun shells to the device instead of blanks. No idea if anyone ever broke in as he was adept at burying things in the surrounding fields.

Feel really sorry for you, mate....hope the bastards are caught and given a good kicking!

Firstly, to the OP, very sorry to hear this. I've had a car stolen in the past, soul destroying.

Secondly, it may be completely unrelated but I had several cold calls last week from the same person. Sounded dodgy and kept asking for me by my first name. Said he was from some investment company in London which didn't exist. He wanted me to confirm my address, he knew it too because he asked if I lived there. I refused to discuss it any further and on the last call he was really abusive and hung up on me.

I've just renewed my BMW extended warranty the week before and was wondering if they were related and if he wanted to confirm my address to nick my bike. Probably just paranoid but thought I'd put it out there in case anyone else has had something similar.

Really sorry to hear that JJ. I hope you get it back and in good order.

I had my house broken into some years back. They took the garage keys and stole my bike, a 1200 Bandit. Have a good look around the streets and alleyways near to you mate. Mine was sat next to some bushes on a pathway about 400m metres from the house. They leave them in case the bike is trackered and then come back later to see if it's been recovered. Saves them getting locked up with the bike and the rest they've nicked. Good luck.

I think it was Northampton where MCN recently had their Mulistrada Enduro pinched from the cinema. Seems like a new target area.

Really sorry to hear about the theft. There does seem to be something going on with all this bike theft. Where are they all going? JJH

BMW are nicking all the good ones to use the parts on warranty claims :D

Seriously, a shit thing to happen. If it happened to me I'm not sure I'd want it recovered as it would always be tarnished by the scum thief. I think I might prefer an insurance payout

Any criminal lawyers among us?

Where does one stand if, say, one were to catch/confront said thieves in the act WITHIN own property and, say, accidentally killed said thieves with a blunt object? Such as a hammer?

Make compost of him or feed it to the pigs. Less trouble that reporting the act.

I live in South Norfolk. Loads of pigs round here

Sorry to hear about the theft JJ. Must be an awful feeling. We are seriously considering a family dog (German Shepherd) mainly because of the perceived increase in break ins, thefts etc...and we live in the district with (statistically) the 4th lowest rate of crime in the U.K.

Bloody hell, that was my bike which I sold and delivered to you.

Really sorry to hear this, it's a great bike.

It wasn't me - I've bought a triple black one - honest!

Hope you get it back - awful news.

Dave
