I have recently installed a set of vario levers on my 2012 800GS.
Since installing the clutch lever the bike will not start in gear and when the clutch lever is pulled, can be a bit of a problem if stalling off road or at a busy junction.
It starts fine when in netural and I believe the clutch to be adjusted correctlty.

Do you think I have damaged a switch either at lever or clutch.

Any easy fixes?

Cheers

Since the original lever comes off so easily i would be surprised if you have damaged anything.

it is not something as simple as the new lever does not pull the cable as far as the original lever and therefore is not operating the clutch properly.

I take it the side stand is up :hide

Yes lever can off easily and the clutch us engaged sufficiently with a little play before biting. Side stand always up!!!! hee hee

You can hear the switch click if you get your ear near the lever in a quiet place. Depending on the type of lever and its adjustment, it is possible that you are not activating the switch even though the lever is pulled in. The lever can be adjusted such that it interferes with the rubber bits on the grip.

You have not adjusted the bite point adjuster correctly. It needs to be adjusted so that it bites further out from the bar.

Will give that a go as a clutch bites quiet early

guessing this is done at the clutch?

As posted before... listen for the click.. you should hear it very early on when pulling the lever.

I believe the switch can be rigged as well...
