bought a 1100gs, have a few question's,?

Leaving aside the looks of the thing, it's not even like it's well engineered.
The seat (better ergonomics were cited as the reason for the conversion - is that really going to be comfortable for more than a trip to the corner shop?), the exposed rear shock top mount waiting to mince your knackers, no mudguards, dodgy lights, footrests made of scrap iron cunningly designed to make servicing more difficult, hacked about over long brake and gear levers with huge throws, cheap air filters and a crappy exhaust - dare you to take that on a decent motorway run and not destroy the valves / pistons - the list is endless. Bear in mind, this was the guy who was going to hang his exhaust off the bottom shock mount...

I'd be bloody amazed if it gets a (non dodgy) MOT in anything like its current state.

passed the mot today, no problem, not a dodgy one either,!!
also set the co2 at 3.56%, so nothing is going to go bang,
no way the top shock mount would interfere with my dangly bit's, if i had a close encounter with a car,
g/lever & brake lever work fine, and what servicing would they make more difficult,?
mudguard's, just more weight,
nothing wrong with the light's, i flick the switch, they go on, flick the switch, they go off,
the ergonomic's i wanted were to move the footrest's forward, to lessen the bend on my knee's plus move the seat rearward, i've also had the same seat style on quite a few of my previous bike's and travelled thousand's of mile's,
guilty on the charge of saying i was going to mount the silencer on the bottom shock mount, just another senior moment,
so your not interested in buying it then,

I think the servicing issues are to do with dropping the gearbox oil. The only problem for me would have been starting with a decent bike instead of a shitter.

Good for you (regarding the MOT). I stand corrected.

You are aware that the CO pot only affects idle and part throttle mixture? (Ok - before the pedants jump down my throat, it affects mixture across the entire range but the effects at higher rpm are negligable). It could still lean out disasterously at higher revs (or not, but you have no way of knowing without putting it on a dyno). My gut feeling is that with a free flowing pipe and less air filter restriction, it'll run lean...

Have you tried removing the gearbox oil drain plug?

Mudguards - yep - useless until you get your visor plastered in sh*t every time it rains. That said, I guess riding that you'll be more of an open face, no goggles, gritting your teeth kind of bloke? ;)

so your not interested in buying it then,

Thanks anyway but not this time :)

Feck me,I really needed a laugh at the mo and this did it for me.Bloody brilliant but what a waste. He should have got a write off instead of building one.Can you imagine the look on the last owners face if he sees this.

Garage Hermit you have great style, just not my style but, great style nevertheless and the two fingered approach you have for everyone is so refreshing, as is your dry wit. Good on yer buddy.
