Gave up on trying to fit the original seat as it just wasn't working with the tank.
Started making up my own carbon seat pan today.
Will have to leave it overnight now to dry before I can trim it all to shape.

Any ideas who can do the upholstery for a new seat foam and cover please ?
Or where i can get motorcycle seat foam so I can make my own seat ready to be covered ?

Once we’re 100% happy with the shape and fit he goes away and trims it up to our spec.

Once we’re 100% happy with the shape and fit he goes away and trims it up to our spec.

That's why I was wondering if there was a company to supply the correct foams i would need then hopefully i could do all the shaping myself.
I can get someone to make a cover for it then

Have a look to see if there are any foam offcut supplies near you. We have one close by in Exeter, you can go along and rummage through what they have for your needs. Taking along some old seat foam gives you a good comparison. I've built some seats for old enduro bikes built up from various layers, easy to cut and form with electric bread knife and belt sander. Im sure there will be youtubers showing the techniques. Have you thought how you're going to secure the cover to the base, metal tags on metal seats, staples on thick plastic but Im not sure how on composites unless you can fix a a hdpe edge perhaps. Great build, where do you get your composite supplies, I can't ever seem to find it at a price that makes doing it myself viable compared to paying someone.

I'll do it the same as a corbin seat. They glue the edges on the underside ant then pop rivet it. Will have a go if I can find the foam. You can get it from ebay but would be good to see it first and try for density.

Thanks Mark. Will hopefully have it on the road before the end of summer. Just wiring up the lights.
I'm going to get it mot'd and then a full strip down and rebuild. Get everything powder coated and painted

Fit a Lithium and lose 2-3 kg. The JMT/Shido 51913 fits the standard battery box and has decent spec. The ONLY downside to a properly specced modern LiFePo battery is the initial cost. The 51913 can be had for £160 - though some suppliers want £100 more. Battery will last twice as long as AGM so it all works out in the end

I'm not actually a big fan of lithium batteries. They are great when they work but when they don't they leave you in the shit big time. I have been on 3 big distance trips now where batteries have gone down, including myself in Morocco on my rally bike. One minute it started and the next it didn't. I'm happy enough with the extra couple of kilos
