Confidence issue

in my experience of motorcycle tyre pressures and the problems surrounding the 'black art', 90% of handling problems are tyre pressure related.

Thats why - when servicing or PDI-ing a bike we always set the pressures to the max recommended.

This way, underpressuring could not be used as a handling problem to overcome.

Never had a customer complain that the tyre pressures were wrong.

You'd be surprised at the fuckwits that remarked how much better their bike handled after a service though - :tosser - all cos the pressures were put up to the max.

I just told them it was the new fork oil :mmmm.....:augie

sorry i only guessed it was a front tyre carcass problem - i thought you'd have double checked the pressures before asking the interweb for help .........:comfort

No problem..pleased I gave you the opportunity to be a smart arse:thumb2

Minimum recommended for grip?

I run my 1150 solo at 32/36 as per BMW - no problems. When the wife's on th back I run 32/39 - ie rear as per BMW but just leave the front at solo pressure. 2-up with luggage I run 34/42 - ie rear as per BMW and front up a bit as well although sometimes leave rear around 40-ish.
Absolutely no problems with handling - I can't understand why Kaister is fecking about putting customers pressures up to MAX - what's the point of developing radial tyres with the ability to flex & obtain a larger footprint on the road then destroy that ability!!

Cheers..........Grizzly:beer:

how do you know that the customer isn't going to take the bike away with his mrs and all the shopping in tow ?

.....then come back whinging the tyres were set at solo pressures.

not worth the hassle - believe me.

...and i'm glad you can tell the difference in 3 psi - most people can't :augie
