This is isn't about buying a bike but about buying some boots. I suppose if I was buying a bike they'd be more interested. What's a pair of boots to them?
So, I am looking for a pair of boots for the hot weather. I've identified some clothes but now want some short boots that I could also wear off the bike for a short while and still be comfortable.
I thought that the Oxtar Urban might be one choice but trying to locate dealers that sell it is liking getting blood from a stone. BMW do a Sneaker 2 boot that may also fit the bill so I e-mailed the four nearest BMW dealers to ask. Only one replied with a curt "Sorry we don't stock it."
Maybe the answer is to contact BMW Motorrad directly. Can I find contact details on their web site? No way! So, I e-mail BMW UK and, so far, nothing.
Why do these people bother to be in business? Maybe they aren't used to this new-fangled technology called e-mail...
On the other side of the coin, I contacted Hood Jeans for a pair of reinforced jeans for use on the bike. I received a reply staright away. I spoke to them on the telephone. I placed an order on the web last night and had an e-mail confirmation that the goods are in stock and will be with me within 7 days. That's the sort of service I like and the sort of companies I prefer to give business to.
Meanwhile, if anybody has any suggestions for other lightweight and cool boots (and gloves for that matter), I'd be pleased to hear.
Thanks
David
