Whether this is in anyway connected I don't know but there have been a number of threads concerning stalling engines over the last few years. I have had this myself on a few occasions but it's always been impossible to replicate whilst at a dealers. The only things in my case which have been consistent are:
1. Most times when the engine has just stalled has been when slowing down quite fast and after downshifting from 3rd to 2nd. I have also on a few rarer occasions had the engine just die when blipping the throttle whilst just moving off - as the revs drop, they keep dropping, the motor hiccups and stops.
2. I have had this happen on stock headers/stock exhaust, stock headers/Akra can, Remus headers/stock can and Remus headers/Akra can. Same with and without the accelerator module.
3. In all cases the engine would not restart when in gear even with the clutch dis-engaged. I have to put the bike into neutral before the engine will start. This seems to be mimicking what happens first thing if the ignition is switched on with the bike in gear - even with the clutch pulled in the bike won't start until it's been put into neutral. So, when the engine stalls, the electronics seem to be resetting the ignition somehow. If I deliberately stall the bike when in gear, the clutch switch works as expected so I know that works OK.
4. If I take a more conservative route when coming to a stop (by not blipping the throttle on fast downshifts) and changing down when at idle revs I don't get this problem.
There could be loads of reasons for this but the thing I don't understand is why the ignition resets itself and won't allow me to restart the engine whilst in gear and the clutch disengaged. That's the biggest pain for me.
