Before going to my local dealer this week has anyone had this random issue, and I mean random! I've read diagnostic stories of faulty fuel pumps (3 pumps failing in one year). Software update? Valves?? Dirty sensor???

After the warning light popped up today, the bike sounds and performs just as good as I got it, it's great! She's an old girl at 2019 with 70,000 miles literally only last month... which makes me wonder if BMW are doing a spot of scaremongering here :teacher

The bike has been behaving brilliantly since upgrading the battery to a Motobatt Hybrid albeit a slight glitch the other week when I didn't ride for two weeks and the engine cut-out 3 seconds after starting — same again, not rode for two weeks because of work and this morning the engine warning light pops up randomly with no engine cut-off or any other issues...could this cause a potential computer memory issue?

UniCarScan can't cancel the warning light so if there's any experience on this would be much appreciated before heading to BMW or maybe upgrading to GS911, to be fair, the warning might even cancel itself by the time I get back to the bike as I've read from other reports...

There's no way to know without reading the code it has thrown up. For day-to-day bits, using the Motoscan app & bluetooth OBD reader would be fine. If it is still riding ok, i would assume it may be a sensor that has seen a reading that is out of spec, and is warning you.

Amber is not urgent, ok to ride / get it checked. Red is stop; do not ride. Get it to a dealer/a mechanic to see the Bike.

Exhaust Flapper Valve ? that tends to be the most common instance in my experience

Yes I was thinking a sensor might be the issue but will look into it further tomorrow, thanks for your comment.

Almost certainly the exhaust.
Fortunately on the 1250 you don’t need to worry about buying anything as the servo is unusual in that it has stops built in unlike many.
Simply disconnect the actuator cables from the servo and unless you want to save the 4-500g that it weighs keep riding.

Definitely warming towards this after reading more into it, if further tests direct me in this direction I'm thinking of installing a Healtech Exhaust Eliminator to override future issues, have you tried this by any chance?

Healtech Exhaust Eliminator
have one ready, once the bike is out of warranty, and not being able to Service the Sensor (
), I would recommend a view of this video, it will give you some tools and tactics ..

I'm new to the whole UniCarScan/MotoScan and discovered this morning how to find and clear codes and not just service reminders etc and yes, the Exhaust Flap Valve threw up the warning light yesterday (presuming the top code of the list is the latest code) I'll watch the video from Just The Way It Is later on.

The other underlining 'trouble codes' must have been stored on memory from before I installed Motobatt Hybrid Battery as the previous battery was throwing all kind of warnings and then swiftly disappeared pretty much right after... all cleared and running great now 👍

Cheers mate, absolutely, although as PittaNaanRoti wrote earlier (I'm hungry now lol) 'disconnect the actuator cables from the servo' should be much more cost-effective... I'll definitely check this video later on though, thanks

Thats True, but it will continue to throw that 'Warning' Light, unless you free the Flapper Valve or fit the Eliminator
