A few cabins in the small area but very quiet, very private. 20 minute walk to the village with a bar half way and another when you get there
Do you rent it out?
We do, it's popular mainly with Finns. Plan to go back late April for some spring skiing
I'm just back from visiting friends in Helsinki and spent a week at their place up in the lakes about four hours North, plus a trip out East near Savonlinna over towards the Russian border.
Solitude is not a big enough word to describe it. Wide open spaces and endless lakes and islands, with a tiny population. What a fantastic country. Heading back in the summer next year once their new house on an island near Puumala overlooking lake Saimaa is finished. (Don't bother asking what lake you are looking at every time you see it driving North from island to island, it gets boring when the answer is always Saimaa.)
I would love to visit in the summertime on my GSA once I am retired.
