I want to fit some DRLs to my GS.
Is my only option a Ezcan or could I simply Wire to the Battery and use a relay to switch the power from of a switch live feed?
Or will this cause an issue with the canbus system.
Cheers.

The canbus wouldnt care what you did via a fuse and relay from the battery.

Crack on.

I seem to remember a spare plug/socket behind the R/H side panel on my 05. I think I used this to power my DRLs .

Isn't that the feed for the SatNav?

I tapped into the number plate light wiring under the saddle to a relay and then to a switch. Power from the battery via in line fuse to relay then to lights. Works fine and you can't forget to switch them off as the relay takes care of it. No effect on the canbus on my F900xr.

As I remember there were two spare sockets under there. One as you say for the sat nav. I used this as well, and one for my DRLs. I did add in a switch to turn them off if I wanted.

You could also use a Skene IQ 275. It has inbuilt fuse, and also acts as a dimmer, so you don't dazzle on drl mode, but have full blast when on full beam

Healtech do a connector that connects to the battery and senses the voltage then turns on/off.

I went cheapskate and bought a blade fuse box off Amazon and used an old 40amp relay i had. Used the Hella din socket under the seat on the left hand side as the trigger for the relay. Run my spots, Innovv, Dash mounted sockets etc from the fusebox.

When I had a Hexhead I used a “Fuzeblock” to run accessories both switched and I switched, taking a headlamp feed to trigger the relay.

The price of a Fuzeblock has become stupidly expensive for what it is, I removed it from the GSA before trade in and use it on my Tmax for my heated grips, seat, GPS etc.
