If you copy & paste the name of the hotel and the tel number from the waypoint in to Goggle it seems to find the Bikerhotel webpage and from there, the hotels own webpage :thumb2

Replying to my own posts now

:D

I just spent ages compiling a list and then found this corner of the forum - excellent job:beerjug:

Is there a belgium campsite file? I have struggled to find campsites there - maybe there aren't many because it's so muddy.

Thanks very much anyway........excellent work.

View attachment 88801 - I must admit to being a little concerned about the accuracy of some locations but thought that, as long as you're near you'll find it (?)

Thanks for that Whatton. it may turn out to a valuable resource providing i can get the Zumo sorted...:augie

as for the " subsequent file" stuff coming up on the previous posts. it is very rare that mapsource will update via the software.. always best to go via the web links :)

How's about the Flunch restaurant chain in France? They tend to be with the larger supermarkets (Auchan, Carrefour, etc) - good self-service food and beer at a decent price :beerjug:

Like digga, just starting to mess around with the new Zumo, but with the added excitement of using the Bobcat beta in Mac OS X :D

Updated July 2006 so there might be some changes. I only updated the two in Malmo. Accompanied by BMW logo for a nice icon.

Right you are... I don't seem to be able to delete that post either...

Funny, I would have gotten those the same exact way I did the others in on that page...???

Al...

Thanks for the Euro campsite info Waldin:thumb. A massive help, I have opened up the file in mapsource as well as google maps and can see where all the campsites are. When I have transferred this info to my Zumo it seems too much info for the memory to deal with which means I then have to import only the campsite I want which is a bit of a pain as there are over 3000 to go through. When I import them they are stored in my favorites and not in the Campsite section of the "where to" menu.....

Any ideas:nenau

Cheers.:beerjug:

You need to use Garmin's "POI loader" software to load collections of POI's, it's a free download off the Garmin website.

Each custom POI collection needs to go inside a folder called "Custom Waypoints" on your PC. The files in the folder need to be in .gpx format not .gdb which the majority of files in this thread are, but it's just a case of re-saving them using the "save as" menu in Mapsource.

These collections of custom POI's then appear in the Extras menu on the Zumo.

If you send the collections using Mapsource and not POI Loader they end up filling the Favorites menu up, which is not a good idea as you've found out.

:)

Thanks Waldin,

I've downloaded the POI loader from the site and completed the steps above:thumb2. The problem I have now is that it only seems to have transferred the UK campsites and none for therest of Europe.... Any ideas?:nenau

What makes you think that? When you choose find, it only shows a fixed number of POI's in distance order from your current location, I presume somewhere in the UK at the moment.

Unless you have a route active, then if you hit the "Near" button whilst searching then you get the option of choosing POI's along the route or POI's near your set destination.

Try simulating a route to Berlin then select "Near destiation"

:)
