So we were in Glasgow this weekend. Pish weather anyway, that's my excuse for coming up the slip road from Breahead this morning in my van- heading west to home.
There they are, for about a quarter mile, in the middle lane, head lights blazing, tassels and un-fastened 'colours' fluttering in the breeze. Legs stretched out in front all they way to their highway pegs. Eyes out on stalks from their open faced helmets. Open pipes bellowing. Blocking the whole fcukin road...
Indicator on,I get fed up waiting for some dentist on his hog to open up a gap bigger than a dyna-low-sportster-low rider- bad ass-whatever. and barge accross to the outside lane and accelerate to a reckless 70 mph.
As I pass the line of leather clad peeps burbling along on some pretty good looking bikes, the only ones who look comfortable are on Sportsters or the full on touring armchairs. Doesn't look like fun for the pillions.
At the front are a bewildering collection of fluorescent jackets with 'Road Marshal' 'Road Leader' or 'Road something-or-other'
I wonder if they were going to Largs. Or maybe farther afield.
I just wished they were going somewhere a bit feckin faster or a bit more spread out.
Had the same thing a while back when I was on the bike- the twats were strung out over about a quarter mile with a bike length between them just north of Fort William and a long queue of cars stuck behind them. Doing all of 50 miles per hour..
I never held traffic up when I had a Harley- spent all day putting back on all the bits that shook loose and fell off so never got to go anywhere.
Nice to see HD quality control has improved

, then over Christmas we went for a ride and ended up at Cross Gates cafe and there was a guy (not HOG) on a Dyna, 2 years old with about 75k miles on it, then I remembered that you do get some die hard real bikers still on them. Then we had a chuckle when two new 12GSA's turned up together each owner with all the Ewan and Charlie trimmings, we looked but couldn't see a camera crew
