Mine has also stopped working , suspect the pads may have cooked the last time it worked successfully.First time really used in anger in Switzerland this week-end, and was I glad I had it, fully loaded 2 up, and stopping on slopes waiting for cars and buses to go by, but on one pass the Kunkelspass that was gravel and hard stone, and really dusty, I noticed that the HSC was not holding the bike the same solid way as on the road, bike was slipping back slightly so I reverted to old style holding the brake, could it have been discs had got hot, or gravel and dust, I really do not know, later it worked as normal, sandwich time maybe.

It hasn’t worked properly since yesterday . The brake is applied, but it won’t hold & starts rolling backwards. Worked fine at the start of the trip , however when applied for one photo opertunity you could smell the friction material cooking . I’ll have a better look when I stop in Nazare tomorrow.
It doesnt
I still reckon it’s the pads that are foo##d. Holding pads tight against a hot disc can’t do them much good. It is blamed for a lot of warped discs when people sit with brakes applied for too long.
A word of caution, though, it comes off automatically if you switch the engine off. It's not a handbrake!!
