and something I have not seen done before. 1100 arm with the 1000 bevel drive/brake/wheel. There were a couple of bikes with this setup there.

So what would be the point in keeping the drum braked hub in such a conversion then, being that sourcing new wheels is getting harder, that no one seems to be relining the hubs, and that the braking can probably only be described as adequate at best?

Is it easier to keep the front and rear wheels parallel using the airhead bevel sans disc? I seem to remember that Rob Farmer at least had some trouble with the amount of ofset created by using an entire swinging arm from an oilhead GS on a special. Just curious :thumb

Thought you guys might like this pic from ADVrider...I know I do!:)

I should have photographed the detail cards but omitted to do so. Does anyone know anything about them ???

Bob.

I did find a way around the front mudguard and it is now completely sorted- The pic was taken before she was finished although the upsweep of the exhaust is just fine. Check out the May edition of classic motorcycle mechanics for a full review.

It's a yank thing Bill. Those fairings have a cult following in the states. They even made auxillary fuel tanks that replace the sidepanels. I don't know anything about the makers but Don Veso Rapid Transit fairings are popular

I quite like the look of this one though

Some of the aftermarket tanks fetch huge money

Just do a search on Hoske and Heinrich fuel tanks. Some of them are beutifull other functional

I'll second that, WOW!

Off topic ... sorry but
Does none of these places do 1150gs's. Will I be forced to be the first to paint my frame and wheels blue and start making fancy bits ???
