Whilst wheeling it about, I scratched the R/H cam cover. Does any one know of a accessory shop available paint (either touch up or spray) that is a goo match?

I assume you mean the right hand side, as you sit on the bike?

I've got a spare cover for the left side of the bike.

A goo match? I would suggest snot green.

PS Nutty only told you he had a spare nearside one to wind you up further. It's about as useful a bit of knowledge as tits on a bull, as you need the offside one.

If the scratch is below the spark plug cover the newly available genuine BMW head guards will cover it. They do cost more than a new rocker box though.
Other guards may offer the same covering, the machine art X head covers offer the most cover but look like they are fitted to covering scratches.

Having started this thread with a request for info., I am now able to offer an answer, should any one scratch a cam cover as I did. The BMW paint is a "Bike paint". The official colour is Graphite Grey and the paint code is M963.
My friendly body shop did the job for £30. (Removed first of course). I did first invest £2+ (+p and P) on a coil remover as I didn't want to risk it with a screwdriver. I'm glad I di as it was very tight.

Sorry, No but if you go to Motor Works web site, you'll find it somewhere the end of the list of items available for the LC

I've just enquired with R&G paints and they say that the M963 is a "satin silver"? Can you reconfirm that it is the correct colour for the cam cover on a GS LC before I order. Thanks

Motorworks part numbers & prices:

TOA27107 - Spark Plug Socket - £4.80
TOA73248 - Coil Remover - £2.57

+ VAT & Postage etc.

Just ordered the above for myself, all in stock. The Coil Remover is a BMW tool; no idea what the BMW part number is.

I have been in touch with Phil at RS BikePaint this week. He was really helpful and sent me a small sample of the cam cover paint, which looks like a really good match. The code he gave me was 38200.
