Keyless key question

So I’ve got keyless but I don’t think I have an alarm.

Do the buttons on the key do anything or are they just for the alarm / RT luggage?

They do nothing.

Puzzled me when i got mine too, for a while.

I was told when i picked up my bike they are because they use the same key as the cars and are of no use on the bikes

It just operates the alarm functions on a GS.

For the alarm which is an optional extra. You can have one installed after purchase which is what I did on my R1250GSA.

Didn't realise you could get the alarm fitted later. How much was it?

??? Mines alarmed and I think immobiliser too.

Whether that was an optional extra by the previous (first) owner or not I'm not sure.

Circa £400.

I can't remember the price off the top of my head as I had other work done at the time but I don't think it was anywhere near £400. I think it was nearer £200.
