Was it tricky to drill-off the BMW connector ? I've only had a quick look at the BMW horn and put it back on the bike -....any chance of a 'pic' ?
Soldering's not a problem !!
Sorry didn't think to take pics, but it was very easy to do, (it must be as I did it)

Just removed the two soft plastic/rubbery blobs to reveal where the terminals are connected to the horn, I think the connector is soldered onto the horn contacts.
Just put a small drill down the centre first as a pilot, 1/16 inch in old money, then a slightly larger one about 1/18 inch. The connector plug then came loose on one side and I just (gently) persuaded the other one off with a screwdriver. If I did it again I would try with an even smaller drill second time to see if I could get the connector off with an even smaller hole.
I put some suitable foil over the bottom of the holes and taped it on to stop the solder running through and out the bottom when soldering on the wires.
Fit the two spade connectors and plastic covers that come with the Magnum horn to the ends of two pieces of wire , I thought about 4 inches was about the right length.
The holes on the connector filled in quite neatly with solder, but you need to be quick so as not to melt the surrounding plastic on the connector.
Also put blobs of araldite on the exposed solder when cool to stop and chance of shorting.
I used the original mounting plate from the BMW horn and cable tied the connector to the bracket to secure it. Just make sure you mount the connector close to the horn so as to make sure you can fit it to the bike again without it catching.
Lastly I did use an anti shake washer and threadlock when re fitting the horn to the bracket.
After all that I don't want the horn to fall off
