So, this stripped thread on the mirror perch. I am correct in thinking the two nuts on mirror stem should turn against each other so you can tighten it in it’s mount then fine tune the position of the stem for max visibility?

On the pictured one I can’t get the nuts to turn against each at all. I assume the upper one is a LH thread. It was all quite rusty when I pulled the sleeve back for the first time in years.

Sorted 👍🕺🕺. But feck me that was tight. Good job it’s meaty 19mm spanners. Heat, More heat, then a bit more heat and a lot of penetrating oil and clamped in vice and all of a sudden half a mm of movement. A tad more heat and then a mm more and then boosh off it came. It’s a bit mashed up as the bottom nut was trying to turn in the vice no matter how hard I clamped it.

That’d be Bulldog BDX spray. Brill stuff.

On a related note my threads don’t look too healthy so I want to chase/clean them. Are they M10x1.0 does anyone know please?
