The drag down to Plymouth awaits

TBH if it wasn't all booked and paid for I dont think I would be going what with injuries I will be carrying and leaving Susan with the puppy etc however I am now looking forward to it.

Brief plan is meet my mate on his new Ducati SF V2 at Lutterworth and then have a tootle down the Foss way and through the cotswolds before the hideous M5.

First night will be at Fuente De as usual then the monastery parador at Corias then a night slumming it in Mogadouro then to be different this year we are heading down to Marvao for at least 2 nights so we can meet up and ride with our old mate Bob who lives out that way followed by somewhere else we have not yet decided on before retracing our steps.

Injuries carried?
You never mentioned any?
Hope you’re ok 👍
I have a hernia from lifting Boris when he died in a panic, I didn't lift with my legs.
I also have the toe nail issue but that is on its way to resolution and I have a cricked neck from an awkward sneeze :D

In other news however the mighty KTM ultimate touring bike ( read inappropriate) has been fully serviced and shod with new rubber.

Tyres are getting bloody expensive when the bike gets through them at the rate it does but all part of the fun

Oh no
Sorry to hear about Boris and your hernia - must have missed it
Are you down for an Op ?
Good on the toe nail front?…. I use a chiropodist to avoid issues nowadays
Have a good trip

Have a great trip. We were at Fuente De today, stunning weather, loads of bikes out (we’re in the car but had fun anyway). The sun is strong even if it’s now a couple degrees cooler than the UK!

Oh. And there might be a speed trap near Fuente De. There was a grey car parked off the road on one of the straight sections and as I passed the driver had what looked like a speed gun pointing at me. If it was it was super cheeky as he was completely hidden but I can imagine most bikes and faster cars were over 80 kph on that section.

Here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/U2c7ggtpmKADbioT9?g_st=ic just on the dirt track at the corner under a tree.

Corias is lovely.

The road due south of there towards Puerto de Leitariagos is a stunner. The descent south of Puerto is very twisty.

Have a great trip!

That's OK I never really speed up there despite it looking like a great hooning road
We play a game of set the cruise at 50 ( yes I knew that is technically speeding but a long way from taking the piss ) and only knock it off for the village half way up. It makes it a good fun road as that is more difficult than you might think

on the way down its a warm the tyres up ride ready for the road to the goat

The routes might have to wait till I get back as we are relying on memory this time but happy to do so on a round up of the trip.

So made it to Plymouth fucked about a bit by the professional fuck about bods of border control which involved a re pack

On board a cheeky couple of pints and a negroni before dinner in the posh restaurant where I ate my own body weight in smoked salmon followed by beef wellington and then 80 puddings
Food was excellent as usual although I almost complained that the grapes were not seedless

Brandy and coffee and early to bed as I was knackered due to lack of being bike fit

Slept like a baby but without shitting myself for a change
Smooth crossing so far

Report ends due to free WiFi expiring and I’m from Yorkshire so won’t be paying
