**** Neutral SOLVED ****

hmm - every bike i owned before getting into the GS had a wet clutch and I didn't experience this problem with any of them. Perhaps bike technology has gone backwards ?

What's really telling is how readily BMW appear to be accepting the rejection of bikes, granted the dealer had to try a number of fixes / item replacements - :nenau

Yep - bottom line this situation appears to be a bit of a mess. Still dont buy the 'user error' line with so many complaints and replacement bikes. Will hold off until 2015 when this should have been resolved once and for all and they've added another 5/10 bhp :)

I also found that changing between positions 1-4 significantly changed the quality go gear changes. Not sure which position was the best but I'm pretty sure it was 4.
