FTR Update

OK. Quick update.Just been speaking to Will at FTR.They very pleased with the interest theyve been getting re this group buy.
As it seems we should easily make the minimum 5,I have taken the plunge and put my deposit down by credit card, though they wont process that payment till they have at least another four takers. They have asked me to say that there is a cutoff point for this particular buy, which means whoever wants to go for it,you need to contact Will at FTR, and put yer deposits down by end of play Friday after next (4th June).
Once the first 5deposits are taken.the payments will go through, the parts for each bike ordered, and you will be contacted re delivery dates, fitting appointments etc.Obviously they are happy to take as many of us as want to apply, but they wont move until the first 5 have slapped thier mastercards down!
If it happens that there are not enough takers, our deposits will be returned/not processed/used to bail out Greece:eek:

Hi, I got a quote from Will via mail.

I'm awaiting a payment to come thru, so most probably I'll joint the group too.
I'll let you guys know if/when I'm putting my deposit.

A mounting solution

Spent quite a bit of time, over on the Adv rider forum(I know, should get out more.I promise I will once they remove my tag:angel), curious how our cousins over the pond deal with some of the issues that seem to come packaged with our bikes.Any way, long thread short,Ive come to the conclusion that the kit shown here http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=580250 from Dan,(Indy Unlimited), is a GOOD THING ,and after a few PMs await the arrival of mine.
If you guys are curious/interested I suggest you put a couple of hours aside, and peruse this thread http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486251.
Not a particularly comfortable read, but ultimately a positive result (kind of).The interweb at work eh? If you cant be bothered with the whole thread, starting from page30 will give the gist :type

Hi PUMA/Dean

Just remember that the fuel pump uses..... FUEL to keep it cool, and does not LIKE to run on empty, as far as I know. This does not mean it CANNOT run (on) empty, so I will let others more technical than I advixe here, but I have read on ADVRider of a theoretical risk with running the bike dry...?
Cheers

All is well zebra :thumb2, I can confirm fuel ran out and engine cut out no further noise no spluttering nothing just like the ignition had been turned off quiteness, coasted to a stop, re fuelled at the road side carried 2 litres started no problemb, first time all as usual, result.

had a nice 549 mile run of mixed roads and speeds.

During which the tank was filled then run Dry and it run out at 218.8 miles.

The fuel light came on then 49 miles later it ran out.

when the computer showed 9 miles to empty it actualy gave me 23 Miles.

Back to the Ohlins,

dryrun020.jpg
