Worth the wait!

Quick update.Just back from my fitting session at FTR (I had to postpone my earlier appointments due to work comittments). What a revelation! As Paddy said, great bunch of guys there, very helpful and obviously passionate about what they are doing.Very confidence inspiring. They were happy to incorporate my Indy Unlimited beefed up fitting kit,at no extra cost too:thumb
For anybody contemplating goin this route,I have to say I am over the moon with what the guys at FTR have done to my bike. The ride and handling have been transformed! IMHO<worth every penny :clap
As far as I know, the group buy discount still applies...:Motomartin

How can I put it?

Smoooth as an oil slick, taut as a 17year old russian gymnast, and makes me go:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D every time I breeze over a pothole,
just like you predicted Dean :thumb2.
Been gifted a session at the offroad skills school in the Brecon Beacons end of the month,so hopefully going to get a few pointers on using the bouncy bits on the paths less travelled. Hoping to haul over the Alps to visit friends in Italy before the Autumn storms hit,and they have some great offroad trails near their citta..Heres hoping :drool

Fantastic, i'm still going to compile the couple of videos from FTR.

I look forward to seeing your videos Paddy :thumb2

off piste.....

Hi peeps,:)
Well, few months on and I can honestly say that Im still as chuffed with my suspension upgade,as I was initially.I thought maybe once the novelty had worn off......well you know what I mean:augie In fact,I guess I am even more impressed the more I ride it,and push it harder.I have to say though,in my IMHO if any of you tossers out there are undecided where to go next, the off-road skills course is an absolute MUST!!! For those of us who are pretty inexperienced when it comes to the real rough stuff, but keen to try and see what our bikes (and ourselves) are truly capable of, this is the dingos swingers:thumb2 I promise, you will be amazed at what you and your bike can do after a couple of days intense off piste tuition (assuming of course you dont have to be helicoptered off the mountain! The unusually dry spell meant the trails were much more skittish than usual,we lost5!:comfort) Already been able to put some of the stuff to good effect up on Dartmoor, just 20 mins ride from me :thumb
I cant wait to go back for more punishment :whip :D:D:D:D A big thanks to all there for a top weekend:beerjug:
Hey Dean, hope your Alpine excursion went as planned, sooooo jealous,I havent been able to leave Blighty yet,but bella Italia beckons:bounce1

Hi Jay,

I know exactly what you mean about the novelty not wearing off and agree fully :thumb2

that stiffening up of the bike suspension just seems perfectly balanced makes you more at one with your ride, no nodding donkey dive, on breaking fairly hard at speed and accelerating away a nice smooth revers of the breaking if you follow..... and it corners like its on rails :thumb2 totaly different bike breaking, riding, accelerating = more controlled, more efficient bigger grin factor :D:D:D:D

looks like you had a good one on the off road course :thumb The alps were stunning as always, Route napoleon to south of France, Monaco F1 circuit, Italy, Switzerland, France 7.5 mile long mont blanc tunnel and back, wind, rain sun and snow 2300 miles.

I had a off road baptism of fire up where they do the yearly stella alpina Rally :thumb2 now my off road skills were zero, and are about the same now:blast but it was ABS off and push on up.

Here:

Dont tell any one but I had 2 offs well 3 and 4 was part of number 2 not realy offs, more of slow gentle lay downs, without the milk and cookies:thumb2

Went up at dusk came back down in the pitch black dark, Hid and auxillaries a blazing, dust was everywhere even inside the vario top box! water doesnt get in but the dust did how does that work :nenau scary moments, maybey a bit fool hardy with no off road experience. but great fun, brings out the adrenaline, never sweated so much inside my Lid :D

the memory I will dine off forever :D

All the best ,

great feedback!

Hey guys,

It's awesome reading all your positive responses about your suspension!

Just responding to you Gunz - De-greaser we use is Safety Kleen. It's water based.

:)

Hi guys!

Hope you're all well! Just thought I'd drop this in for anyone else who is considering an Ohlins upgrade for their BMW :)

I recognise that machine! I do believe thats my very own trusty steed in the middle of its` transplant operation. I am very pleased to report that the worries of tissue rejection proved to be unfounded, and the prognosis is............triple distilled, with a smooooth outcome:hogroast
