OHLINS SUSPENSION UPGRADE ANYONE?

UKGSer group buy - Ohlins

Hi everyone!

Since processing the order to Ohlins last Friday, we have still had a fair few calls regarding Ohlins upgrades for BMW's! Citing this post for the group buy, people are interested in getting another one going!

I have told those customers interested to get on here and try to arrange this so they can take advantage of the prices!

This is just a quick note to say that if you know anyone who missed out the first time, please let them know that there may well be another chance soon! Please register your interest here and if we have the numbers we will open up another order.

Cheers! :)

Anyone heard back yet?

I placed a call today to get an update but Will's out until tomorrow. Anyone received theirs yet/had them fitted......if so any good?

Will said he would be placing the order on Friday and it will take 7-10 days for them to be shipped out.

yea

I placed an order in the first lot which was on the 6th June, just wondered if anyone in the first group buy had theirs yet?

Friday 9th

I'm booked in on Fri 9th Jul to get mine changed so I assume that they will have arrived by then (if they aren't there already).

Im in the first group, and havent heard anything back yet.Was going to give them a call to see how things stood after the weekend. If Will or anyone from FTR are reading this thread, praps you could post a wee update on here for all us tossers waiting with baited breath :bounce1
Nemo,I presume you in the first group?

First Group

Hi SKON, yes I'm in the first group but I booked my session before the suspension had arrived on the promise that it would be there on time. I still don't know if the parts are there or not.

I'm getting desperate to have it done as the front damping on my bike has disappeared and it gets "interesting" on bumpy corners. I cancelled a trip to Scotland already and I have a trip to France planned in a couple of weeks. If this can't be done in time I will have spent the main part of the Summer without a properly usable bike.

Every time I've spoken with FTR they have been very pleasant and sounded professional so I'm sure they'll come through.

Yipee

I sent an email to Will this morning and he responded very quickly with the news that my suspension was there and that they were expecting me next week. Fantastic:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

So I am now a happy bunny and will be even happier next Friday.

Thanks to FTR!

Very Very Happy

I went to FTR on Friday to get front and rear Ohlins on my 1200GS. They were there early, answered my dumb questions and made sure that I was happy with what was happening. The owner, Kevin, has a background in WP Shocks and has been involved in the racing scene for years. Just chatting generally to him about his business gave me a good feeling about the whole process.

I was dropped off in Bury St Edmonds for a stroll and they arranged that I could phone back for a lift or they would let me know when it was done and then pick me up. (As it was a nice day I choose to walk back, approx 2 miles).

They started on the bike at 0900 and were done at 1215. I had a quick test ride, asked more dumb questions which were answered fully, and then I was on my way. I took a route home that stayed off the M-Way as much as possible and covered about 150 miles back to Reading.

Ok that's the story of what happened. What about the result? A very definite improvement over standard shocks. I'm not a track or road star but even I could tell that the bike felt "better". By this I mean more confidence inspiring, the damping was a huge improvement.

To sum up I was very happy to give my money to FTR in return for 2 Ohlins shocks & springs, a set-up and advice. This was a positive purchasing experience. I have no connection with them other than being a happy customer and if you are considering replacing/altering/tuning your suspension you should give them a call at least. (They do other shocks than Ohlins as well).

I've done another 100 miles this morning and I am convinced I've spent my money well. :):):):):):):):)

just got back

had mine fitted today and I have to say I'm amazed at the difference.

My shocks were at 33k and I thought that although my tyres are shagged the suspension was in need of replacing. Even without swapping out the tyres the bike feels better then new. It no longer dives on braking or squats on the way out which was making the bike understeer. Its really inspires confidence and just holds a line while providing an improved ride.

FTR were great as mentioned above, those that have booked in won't regret it :)
