One more sleep!!

new bike ...he's out riding , he'll be home when he runs out of money....

Yes............and no. (I've still got a few coppers left!.

Well, all I can say is wow! Doesn't that 114 cui engine pull! Effortless overtakes. Overall I'm really impressed:D. After the chap had dropped it off (A2B bike transport, I would recommend them, they were actually early and very professional) it was still raining fairly heavily so it went straight into the workshop where I just sat and looked at it for about half an hour. I know I'm biased but she's a thing of great beauty. (If you'll all indulge me I'll post up some pics tomorrow).

Like all bikes there is always a couple of things.......one or two little tweaks to set it up for yourself. I noticed some fairly hefty head buffeting over 60-65. Tomorrow, i'll experiment, try another helmet, and/or remove the screen. I'll do some research online and see if anyone else has the same issue and decide whether I need a taller or shorter screen (or no screen).
The V & H Eliminator 300's are excellent. On tickover or just mooching along in towns or villages they are pretty mild tbh. However, open that throttle and they sound lovely, a gorgeous deep roar and rumble, not raspy and 'spitty'. There's also a nice little pop and bang on the overrun. That is until the wind buffeting takes over!

Sunday (rain again in the morning) will see me with the Eazy Rizer, putting on some nice gloss black 'mustache' engine bars.

I'm going to enjoy this bike.........I can feel it.:thumb

Just develop your neck muscles, in that you take no notice of it and just get on with it.

Keep us posted with pictures of your new bits that go on, looks superb in std condition so will be great with extras

A couple of pics from today, before I went out on a good long ride on it. It was a good long ride too, I reckon I was in Mumbai at one point judging by the severity of the fuckin monsoon I rode through. F. me, what's wrong with the met office forecasters these days? :(.

I popped into local HD dealer, only to find none of the farkles I had ordered had come in yet. "It's the corona virus mate" said the bloke on the parts counter.
"Fuck off", I said, "Have they actually been ordered? I phoned through over a week ago."
" I'm not the parts manager, he's at the other store, but I'll check." (Furious keyboard tapping ensued.........) "It looks like he may have forgotten to do it mate", the non parts person cheerfully told me as if that meant everything was ok.
I stalked out shaking my head and told the twat to forget it, I'd get them from Sycamore where the bike came from.

I don't know....I felt slightly guilty for some reason as the local dealer had been very helpful when I was looking for the bike so I thought I would try and be a halfway decent human being and use them for parts/bolt on bits etc. to show my appreciation for their earlier efforts. You can but try.
Rang Sycamore on my return....." Yes, no problem, they're all in stock, I'll put them all on overnight on Monday morning, you'll get them the next morning and don't forget, you get 10% off parts etc. for a month because you bought a bike from us". RESULT!:thumb

For the moment, all is right with the world......my world anyway.

(P.S for the photo purists.......yes I should have moved the car!)

Looking well over it Doc, it's probably less than chin height as you sit on the bike and I'm not especially tall at 6'

Well, took off the sissy bar, rear seat, screen and saddlebags...........

I’d bin the driving lights too when it’s in naked mode, it’s clean up the front end

Looking smart

Get yourself a “layback” number plate bracket!!

Yeah, the number plate arrangement is a real dogs breakfast. If you wanted a rear rack you would be forced to change the no. plate positioning. I think I read somewhere that HD will pay for the dealers to position the plate below the tail light but that requires a little jiggery pokery with the tail light so it shines down on the plate rather than up as it is from stock. I've got to change the plate anyway and put my own on there when the new V5 comes through the post so I took the opportunity to get a slightly smaller...ahem...'show plate' made so it should be a lot less obtrusive anyway.

I might look at layback number plate bracket anyway, would you have a link handy?:thumb2
