One more sleep!!

I had the same problem with my Heritage. When I put the rack onto the sissy bar, the standard number plate didnt fit. I went down the smaller plate route, 9x4 inches and a layback plate holder. It just fits and looks loads better.

Use the smaller plate, change the rear lens for one that illuminates down..and put the plate below...much neater..or, if you prefer the above the light option, put a yank size plate on.

Is that possible bearing in mind that the indicator cluster runs below the rear tail light?:nenau

How much of a fiddle did you have taking off the stock number plate holder? I've tried and I can't get my arm up between the 'fender' and the tyre from the back. (Might have to get the wife to do it!)

How you finding the bike pal ?

Reckon you will need to drop the rear wheel out to access - it’s pretty tight ..

Wait till you need to access the battery.....

It was a bit of a fiddle but I managed it with a ring spanner between the tyre and the mud guard, and a socket on the outside.

Yes...see photos.

Indicator cluster would block out any light shone down from the tail light, therefore not illuminating the plate. That's assuming you can find a downward illuminating tail light lens that will fit the existing assembly. I've had a cursory look but nothing pops up.

Downward illuminating lens are available (I have one on my Dyna) although I seem to recall it took a bit of searching (sorry, don't remember where I got it).

I had the same problem when I had my old Road King and it had the same indicator bracket thingy. I bought a very small, self adhesive LED strip and tucked them underneath, out of sight then wired them into back light feed. Bish bash bosh.

Like so.....
