Paddy Power bet

Joe
you mentioned in Belfast you've booked a room somewhere...
Do you have a number for this place?

And you staying Friday and Saturday?

Any idea of who's committed yet?
Daithi and Jockser are making sandcastles at the moment, but I'd guess they're coming.
(Shinobi....wipe that thumb mark off your head and sneak away, even just for the spin)

Let's just hope this weather keeps up....

Lads, if I go it will only be for the day. My front wheel is damaged from last weeks red kite rally. I have been too busy to get it sorted since I got back. I will see what i can do and keep you posted.

I booked of work from Friday at 1pm and heading straight up

Was going to go back via Westport, Doolough, west Galway, Galway city
and then straight back ta Dublin.

just heard about the wee adventure

from Sheik Daiti of the dunes and maybe the beemer needs to be pointed up that there hill

so 1400 hrs at the carpark , and grid ref lads ?

pg

and grid ref lads ?

I don't have a grid ref but it's very easy to find. Coming from Newport you drive over the bridge onto the island (having passed the hotel on your left) & drive a couple of miles until you see a turn on the left for either Minaun or TV Transmitter. Take a right (first I think) & carry on up the hill until the road runs out ;) That's when the fun starts :eek

Unfortunately I can't confirm my attendance at this time - family & work issues, don't ya know - but I'm working on it :augie

sorry lads,cant make it:(

some work has come my way that i can't afford to pass up on.

see and have a goon one:beerjug:

The celt has landed in Achill...awaiting re-enforcements.

Bet no-one makes it to the top................................apart from the Gunner that is. :)

Triumphant !

well what happened?

I left my house at about 9:00am and it was cloudy but dry, by 1:00, when I got to Achill, it was very wet and visability was fairly poor. Met Padge, Joe
and his two friends and we went to meet Jockser and Gunner at the carpark.
We had a bite to eat and waited to see if the weather would clear. It got worse.
Rode up to where the mast is at the end of the track going up Minaun, as you can see from the first pic we were soaked before we were started,

visability got worse the higher we went, we debated not trying at all because of that and because all the rain had turned the the boggy part
to complete mush with no grip.

Joe, Padge and myself decided to give it a go, with visability so poor we relied on the track of the GPS to keep us out of trouble. Joe and myself had
TKCs and Padge had on Tourances. Progress was very slow at times with bikes getting stuck in the soft stuff.:blast and where it wasn't soft we were
bouncing off big rocks. Great fun.:bounce1 :D
Padge had the hardest time of it with the road tyres, but we made it to the top and here's the pic Padge took to prove it, where no Tosser had gone
before.:D

:bow Padge and The Celt. :clap

So Aidan, how much was that bet for ? :augie :D

PS Sorry for going missing at the end but I was soaked to the skin and a car with a heater was too good to miss. :thumb2 :D
