BMW does not listen...I told them already years ago the R1200S would be a flop with the smaller tank, smaller bags,no centerstand and no passenger pad that it would not sell like the R1100S did for 7 years...After 2 years it was dead.Same the R18 nobody buys because Harley riders dont want bikes that are heaven heavier than Harleys that sound like wet farts...
The new GS looks nice but not like a real GS should...Not nice but like a GS , different and like adventure and unconventional not like a Honda or Suzuki or all the boring appliances from Japaninc...I dont say the Multilala looks any better looking a\like a ugly duckling to me or the KTM has no design at all like a plasticy dirt bike at best. But I can get over looks but the 19 liter tank means you have to get a ADV which is too big while 24 liters would have been perfect !
As for the motor why the small step of 9 hp and 6 nm more torque and then 5 years from now we finally get 50 cc more with the 76 mm bore to see 152hp/nm and then in 2034 the 160hp/nm R1400GS...Problem with that I can understand BMW to go little by little to milk the cow but by then I will be getting close to 70...Swiss time is running out and so is my patience...LOL
LInked foot brake is crap so why ?
Less weight is good but I will be surprised if it is really 12 kilos because I have the suspicion that the center stand , luggage rack and passenger pegs which are packaged options now where not part when the R1300GS Boxer weigh in for the fight while the R1250GS did...But I might be wrong but we will know soon !
UsuallyI buy another bike every 3 years after the warranty ran out and I got bored with it...Looks like I might run the extended 7 year warranty on my R1250GS for a while longer...
