The timing chain guide slipper is not fitted correctly (LH)Just waiting on another pair of hands to lift the engine out of the frame .....
Swinging arm locknuts were only hand tight , rear shock mounting bolts were loose , front cover and starter motor cover bolts were all loose
Forgot to put up the picture of the oil pressure relief valve - as reported the piston is free moving and the spring appears OK

Teardown of the engine is next but not until next weekend as the clutch pushrod bearing replacement for the Moto Guzzi is my next job

The timing chain guide slipper is not fitted correctly (LH)
It should rest lightly on the chain, when the chain is under tension,
not pushing it in as that one is

Not even 2 weeks and it’s stripped
It’s not just what you do, but the tempo that is impressive.
Great work and interesting to follow![]()

Not decided yet Ian , I'm waiting on the costs back on the powder coat and wet paint and then make my mind up what I'm going to do with itAre you going the whole hog and stripping engine and gearbox?
By the way, unfortunately I don't have a spare caliper dust boot. I certainly did have as well as pistons, but I must have binned them after all. Which is uncharacteristic of me![]()

At a guess, lots. Sounds like he threw it together just to see the back of it, wanker.Corrected , I wonder what else I’ll find that the previous owners have done incorrectly ?

I think its seen an increasing amount of "make mend and do" jobs as it's went through it's latter years instead of fixing it properlyAt a guess, lots. Sounds like he threw it together just to see the back of it, wanker.
