Guys, yes I know I`m going to possibly pull down the wrath of the gods on me, go to hell and suffer the breath of a thousand camel bums (old arabic curse) but I`ve changed the grade of oil on my 2014 R1200GSA and it`s quitened down!
Yeah, I know I`m not `fixing` the problem etc etc but sometimes I just wanna ride the damn thing and not get bogged down with (possible) endless days off the bike so I changed the spec`d 5w/40 for 10w/50 (not 20w/50 mind you

) and the chatter from the RH cylinder is quiter!
Yeah, I know all I`ve done is mask it but hey it works for me
Just a word of caution - the bike has done 25k miles so IMHO it`s now run in enough to cope with a thicker oil!
I do hope this doesn`t start an oil thread - the point is that if the rattle is anoying you try thicker oil! It works and the world won`t end!
As for the 1250, that is still awaiting warranty replair which I think will necessitate the replacement of the cams and/or the secondary shaft but we shall see!
