Gerry,
breathtaking pictures.
Seriously;
the best i've seen on here in ages. :clap :bow :clap

~ feeling a little proud as it's so close to home and every bit as WOW! as any Pyrenean or Alpen Mount. :)

EDIT:
around Blessington lakes was nice today, was out there all day!

There was a lot of GS's in the Wicklow Heather & we were remarking that it was months & months since we'd seen so many sportsbikes out & about :D

yep there were quite a few of them pulled off the charger for the day up here also, :D

more than welcome 2 come up anytime...can recommend few gud walks...an u cud even take the bike an make a trip of it....:D

The iced up lake is Loch Coimín Piast, 'lake of the little hollow of serpents'. Like many another Irish mountain lake, there was probably a story of a water-monster associated with it.
In December 1943 an American Dakota aircraft crashed into the slopes of Cnoc na Péiste (the 4th highest peak in Ireland) just above the lake.
Pieces of the aircraft are still visible on the ridge and in the lake.
A plaque at Cronin's Yard commemorates the 5 victims.

similar here...we have lough Shannagh ...lake of the foxes an everything from American WW2 bombers to sml aircraft crashsites...13 in total i think?...and the Cooley Mtns are only a few miles away in Louth and the beautiful Cooley peninsula
