I have an intermittent fault light showing on my 1150GSA dash, it's the one with the triangle in it immediately below the ABS warning light. I say it's intermittent as it comes on sometimes and not all the time. When it does come on, if I stop, switch off the ignition and leave it a few seconds and start up again it usually goes out and stays out. When it is on everything still works as it should and there are no other warning lights on such as the ABS. Again, when it's on the brakes work as they should and I can hear the ABS Servo kicking in and it all seems to function correctly. It's just annoying not knowing what's causing the problem. It only comes on from start up and not while I'm riding the bike. I can ride the bike without any light then stop, switch it off and later when I come back and start the bike again the light is on.

I've looked in the manual and all it says is, when you turn on the ignition to leave it for at least a second before starting the motor or the light will come on and stay on. I'm not so sure this is the cause though and wondered if anyone could shed any light on the matter and tell me what might be causing this light to come on? Has anyone else experienced this and what is the fix?

It's a 2003 1150 GSA with Servo ABS if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance to anyone with an answer to my question.

Check if the brake pads are badly worn ??

It could be that the level is dropping and triggering the low fluid warning

Or you have an intermittent fault on the Rear bulb ... Don;t be fooled that you have a tail lamp the Servo ABS is a clever system it feeds a lowered voltage to the brake light circuit to make it glow less intense than normal to act as a tail lamp

Please be aware if you are new to these bikes and their braking system There are 4 separate hydraulic circuits You cannot bleed them like a normal system Do an internet search on "BMW Integral ABS fluid change"

Fluid changes should be annual for wheel circuits and Bi Annual for Control Circuits

If it looks murky and dark get them changed ASAP

I picked up 1150GSA 03 plate on Friday with the same issue. The guy I bought it from said it sometimes happens but will go away. He was right and it has now gone. Rear bulb is an array of LEDs so it's not that
