RISE NOW AND BE A NATION AGAIN !

Does Toddy actually exist or is he some form of computer virus that churns out today's cut and paste from central office? He or she appears to have no comment to make about any of the stuff he has cut and pasted here.

To simply keep posting propaganda quotes from others who hold a similar political view to your own without any comment about why you agree with them or the extent to which you agree with them displays nothing more than a willingness to toe "the party line".

This is a debate about Independence which implies that it is OK, at least until comrade Alex is in charge, to have independent thoughts. Come on Toddy. Let us have just one to convince me you really exist beyond being a computer drone in SNP central office.

We must listen to all voices but not all voices are worth listening to: That just about sums up my view of Toddy's posts. I give up trying to coax an opinion out of him. So I'm out and voting NO NO NO by the way

Knob

I take you have been to the Faslane gates and used your skills of persuasion on the many thousands of workers and suppliers who may well need to relocate to Portsmouth on 19th Sept...............no I thought not.

Why this guy gets airtime I`m at a loss...:blagblah:blagblah............no its our fault for blowing wind up his arse :fiddle

Shinyface ;)

Scotland moves forward as an equal among the world's nations,we'll be the crud thats left on the shitter when the big boys are finished, wake the fuck up from your illusion.

On a separate thread it appears Toddy has has some time off from cutting and pasting, and has been touring in the Pyrenees. He no doubt called in to see his Catalonian cousins to swap ideas on the quest for independence.

Catalonia is one of the reasons an independent Scotland will never be admitted into the EU. Spain would see this as a template for Catalonia and would not allow Scotland's entry.

So Scotland will have to be truly independent.

Currency :nenau

Yep, Toddy is a propogandist's dream. Never questioning, always accepting, so make up any old shit and feed it to him and he gulps it down with relish without ever taking a second to consider its efficacy.

If I vote Yes in September, it will be because of the state I'm in. It's a state where ...

The ruling elite appear to be happy to tell lies to the people who elected them. Thatcher did so over the miner's strike and Blair did it again over the Iraq war.

Power is concentrated in the hands of a few politicians in the Westminster parliament and where the Prime minister wields the power of the crown in parliament in matters such as peace and war. Cameron could have continued with his plans to attack Syria using these powers. Even he is not stupid enough for that thankfully but the constitutional position remains unchanged.

Wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few. Poverty is increasing and the rich get richer. That's morally unacceptable but it does not even make economic sense: the rich don't spend enough to create demand in the economy.

The UK government has made no attempt at regional policy for decades. The south east of the UK , dominated by service industry and deliberately stoked up housing bubbles, has been allowed to dominate the economy

Manufacturing has been allowed to atrophy. Now in what parts of Britain was manufacturing dominant, once upon a time? Oh yes, Scotland and the northern regions of England. The current UK government said that they would start to re-balance the economy. It's done feck all. Meanwhile another housing bubble is starting.

There is a very real prospect of All of the UK being forced out of the European Community. Cameron May well do a deal with UKIP who are almost non existent in Scotland. He's already committed to a referendum if he wins. In order to win, he will have to make an electoral deal wit Farage. And no, leaving our biggest trading partner will not be in Scotland's interest.

To sum up: we are in a hell of a state. An independent Scotland would allow us to start addressing the problems above and do so on our own terms.

So there are plenty of good arguments in favour of independence without copy and paste.

Why worry, I don't I'm Scottish. Grandparents from Caithness but I feel I'm British I love all of the UK. Anyway all politicians are the same jam today jam tomorrow whether smiler Alec or slick Mr Cameron smooth talkers, life is more than those two people anyway. I don't go in for brave heart stuff either. The clearances which drove my great grandparents south to fish in the Forth or work in the shipyards were instigated by the lairds and clan chief's and of course by the cheviot sheep perhaps they are easier to blame. So me for one say give it a rest let's all have a life. Biking

I hope you will forgive me for voicing an opinion, what with me not having a vote and all.

At the moment salmon isn't offering independence, he is offering a country whose currency would be controlled by a foreign country (the UK of England, Wales and N Irelannd) and serfdom to France and Germany. Europe is on the brink of collapse. I expect the people of the countries within the European Union to retake their sovereignty and re-establish their old currencies within 5 years. I would like to think UKIP will be the party to break up the EUSSR back into a trading block of independent Countries but I suspect it will be France and the Front National that have that pleasure (the French are so much better then the British at these sorts of things). That might be a good time for Scotland to become independent (for better or for worse) or it might be a good time to stick together and weather the political and economic storm. You pays your money and you takes your chance.

I had a quick look on Russia Today to see if I could source this - and instead found this interesting article (apologies for the paste).

Albert Einstein described nationalism as an ‘infantile disease’.

Our nationality is an accident of birth. It means nothing. You can't eat a flag. A flag doesn't heat a home or put food on the table. Nationalism offers a largely mythologized history in the process of inviting us to embrace a national interest, one that can only relate to the world behind false divisions of national, ethnic, or racial differences.
