Roadlok - key issues?

I had one and found it to be a total faff to use. I quickly learned not to install it with the pin through a hole in the disk, good luck removing it again, you could be there shaking and jiggling things for ages to get it off, no chance if it was on the side stand, easier on the main stand. I then installed it so it would engage a disk hole if the bike moved as it’s sprung loaded. I also had issues getting the key into lock, never mind turning it.

I eventually give up on it, the only person it stopped taking the bike was me, so it was removed and moved on.

I think they are a much more secure option than a disk lock or chain, but ease of use and reliability do not make it a viable option for me.
That's what I do. Just rest the pin against the disc. Any movement will engage it into the disc holes so it's all good.

I've had a few issues with mine. Kept it clean, loads of graphite powder etc but after a year it seized up this winter whilst parked. Nearly snapped the key (had a shifter on it!) but managed to loosen it off. Pulled the lock from the body and used an oil based lube ( against advice from roadlok... Graphite only apparently) but it's been slick since then including a fair few rides in salty conditions.

Of note the "lifetime warranty" seems sh!t... Emailed them 3 times over 3 months asking them about the issue but no response. Nada. Zip.

Can't say I'm impressed with the after sales support.....

Got one on my Guzzi v85tt. Can be a PITA to use/maintain but it stopped the bike being stolen when some scrotes had a go at it when parked overnight in Saltaire last year. Bike cover removed, Abus cable lock cropped off, extensive damage to the Roadlok - but it did it's job. Replaced with another.
