Hi

Im riding up from Cardiff next Wednesday 23rd to attend a meeting at Sellafield nuclear plant, any one know of a decent hotel or B+B to stay for one night.

Also on which roads should I come?,fast twisty roads are my fave.:drool

The main A695 runs up past Sellafield, it`s ok but busy with lorries sometimes, watch out for the plod too. Did you know that you are not that far from Hardknott and Wrynose passes when you are up there;)

I used to stay in a really nice real ale pub / B&B in Broughton in Furness called the Manor Arms. However, it's been 10 years since I went so I don't know if they still do accommodation

This place does superb food both for evening and breakfast (not stayed in rooms, we camped down the road) and has a great range of ales and whiskyies as well and is about 12-14 miles from Sellafield in the lovliest scenery to be found in England:thumb2

Bluebird,
any idea why my post suggesting you visit Hardknott/Wrynose have been deleted?

just been over the hardnott/wrynose passes last w/e the road surface is breaking up large pot holes ect, ride with care!

The pot holes would be the least of his problems. Stopping on that incline would be trickier :augie

Hiya

Did the Wrynose and Hardnott passes, came through from the Ambleside end, very spectacular views and loads of oppertunitys to get the GS airbourne over the numerous crests in the road.

Even better was the road from Sellafield to Barrow then towards the M6 (a595 I Think).

Now THAT is my kinda road, twisty,up and down, quick, just effing awesome!!:thumb2
