Looking to get a new lid at the Bike show this year, but after a disaster with my Shoei Z-One, want to know if anyone has a standard Autocom speaker / mic set up in a Multitech?

The problem with the Z-One was the plastic liner of the helmet, which helped keep wind noise down, but pushed the speakers so far into my skull, I had to remove them!

Any comments about Multitech's also appreciated (resp wind noise).

cheers

Markie,

Ive fitted a shed load of Multitecs and not any problems as yet, they are a lot more comms friendly than any full face Shoei as we speak.

If your lucky I could fit a headset for you at the show if you want.

I have a Multitech and Autocom headset. The lid is superb which surprises me having come from an Arai. The headset fits a treat. Top BUY!!

GSRich fitted my headset into my Multitech at the Ally Pally, I bought the helmet there and then took it over to him and left it with him for 1 hr. Fantastic fit, everything was in exactly the right place. There is plenty of room for the speakers to go into, and still space for me to wear my earplugs without getting my ears pinched.

GSRich:bow I'll be going to see him and the boys when I need the RT fully kitted out

Careful I might just take you up on that! One of your lot did my Arai when you fitted my first ever Autocom (Active 7) but "just in case" I don't pick a helmet up at the show I'm in two minds whether to take it off my Arai before I go. I'm going trade day and will probably go "what the hell" the night before and rip it out just in case :)

Thanks for the offer though, and more so for giving me the confidence to get the lid without the risk of not begin able to fit the headphone.

cheers

Bought a Multitech about 6 weeks ago after trying one while looking fior helmet options for Ms Cheeks.

Never been ble to get on with any Shoei before, had an Arai head but this helemt was a real eye opener. Very comfortable, goo field of vision quiet and fantastic value for money with the whisper kit, clear and grey visors plus a dark visor and Shoei jacket the dealer threw in to sweeten the deal

I fitted the mike and headset loom easily enough but not the speakers as I have in ear units. Can;t see the speakers being an issue as there is enough room for them.

Top kit. :thumb

Thanks - how much is a new headset, speakers / mic going to be? Might just get a new one off you and have the old Arai left as a back up "autocom ready" lid.

Depending on the "view" from your stand, I might just hang around for a bit :)

cheers and thanks again.

Markie

All depending on which system you run mate you are looking at anything from £35 upwards.

As for the view we are against a wall and I believe facing Garmin but we are normally bike the manufactures so im sure there will be enough dolly birds local to us I would say you can look at for the 5 mins of me fitting your helmet lol
