I'm what you would call a lurker, and wouldn't normally post. I am so :censor:off it's unbelievable!
The hazard warning lights started to come on all by themselves! Turn them off and they come on again a few miles up the road. "great!! another problem with the bike"
My friendly dealer had already warned me that the left hand switchgear was a problem on a couple of bikes.
So I phone the dealer this morning to find out when i'm going to get my bike back.
BMW can not give us an answer on when the switch will be delivered and they were e-mailed to say they could not have a unit off the production line.
I then rang BMW customer services.
What a bunch of cowboys :forry
You get the normal oh sorry it shouldn't happen, i'll phone you back. I get the call back saying they had completed their investigation! And that they have no idea when i will receive my switch gear. What!!!!! one week, one month, one year? Sorry, but no idea and nobody at BMW UK can help! some investigation!

This is a known fault and they do not have the support in place to deal with it!
nice one BMW, you bunch of :censor:tards.

So i have a K1300 for the foreseeable future instead of my GS.

Unfortunately that's not a problem only in UK, in Portugal we're experiencing the same problem.
All the buttons of mine stopped working for 2/3 days, but in time to show to the dealer and place e complain. Then they started working again. The left switch gear was ordered 1 month ago and I'm still waiting for it.
Went there at 4 May and the information provided was that a new part number was provided by BMW. So I think a new left switch will be supplied, and that may be the reason of the delay.

The switch gear is made by Nokia. BMW knew about this fault when the bike was launched. Along with other faults this is why they are still testing bikes.

It seems that I have a paid a lot of money to become an unpaid development rider for them. The most annoying fact is that there is no support or spares for the dealers to keep the customers happy when the faults show up.

It would be nice to have some sort of time scale. So I know when I will get my bike back!

I will be speaking to the dealer principle tomorrow, to find out my options!

Post here when you have news... I'll go to the dealer on Saturday, and if I there is any development I'll let you know.

Perhaps this is why my TCS/AS/ESA button stopped working for a bit a couple of weeks ago - was ok the next morning.

Hmmmm.

Its the right indicator on mine, ordered the switch at the begining of the week will ring tomorrow for update. May have to invest in a Hi Viz glove
