The square white light on the dash display.

I can't find mention of it in the riders manual. Wots it for?

ps. On the ride home today it acquired the number 30 within the square.

that might work but it is a design feature that appeared before BMW Connected was a thing, when the bikes had LCD dashes back when the 1250 appeared

but you get a white square if there is no data I believe

I've only seen it on a loan bike
