I'm moving into your area, having spent the last 2 1/2 years in the NW USA to the NW UK, so only two letters different.

So what goes on folks?

Also, does anyone know about importing bikes from the US to the UK?

Whereabouts are you moving to ??

For the bike, contact DVLA and request a free Vehicle Import pack.

It contains all the info and forms needed for importing a machine to UK. :thumb2

Warrington is the wonderfull center of the Northwest...

Yeah right...

Like the belly button is the wonderful centre of Bernard Manning's gut :augie:D:D:D

Now Salford.......there's a town.

Down the other end of the M602:aidan

Salford, luv the place...
So where is it then that you're movin to Lamble ?

Liverpool to start with.

But here in the USA, you can ride for five or six hours in a straight line (not slowly) and still be in the same State (Washington is bigger than Scotland), then NW England is all local...although I'd steer clear of going as far across country as Hull, I've been there before and still have to use nasal spray.

It'll be interesting to see how my revised perspective on distances, translates to being back in the UK. What I do expect to miss is the mountain wildernesses with the fire roads. They provided some amazing riding opportunities, without farmers running out and shouting "oi, git arf my larnd!'
or the orange cagoolies brigade running wire across tracks in the name of peace and quiet.

Is there much/any off-roading GS style in the area?

That looks good and even better, if you do fall off, you aren't likely to get attacked by a bear, unlike here.

do you not have large guns for those bears:D:D:comfort

I'm a Brit, I have a swiss army knife. I could at best, whittle a sharp pokey stick given time...or thread a sail and remove a stone from a horse hoof, while gutting a fish!
Bears dont have hooves and aren't know to wait while people whittle.
