Whilst on tour last week, on my way to Tuscany, after an overnight in Nancy. One of the lids on my panniers (1150 Adv BMW aluminium with chocolate hinges) decided to detach itself from the bike. Fortunately I had some bungies to hold the lid in place, and as a side-effect the gave the bike that 'travel weary' look.
Yup I know I should be more careful.
However after searching this site I found a reference to Zyology as the uk supplier of hinges, which are used by BMW for said panniers.
Ordered two hinges model = c6-3 on Tuesday (around 2ish), Arrived Wednesday
(standard post), fitted Thursday.
Don't know what standard parts would cost as I didn't bother to check after an indication on the other thread that they'd be around £40, but these were £27.03 for the pair (inc vat and delivery).
Pretty good service I'd say.
So if anyone needs new hinges, then these guys are worth trying.
Cheers
