Sitting in San Juan Sur Mer, Nicaragua...a guy says "are you English?"
"Yes"
"Where abouts"
"The far South East"
"Mersea Island? " he says.
First place he came up with. That's almost as bizarre as seeing Hull in the premiership, being shown in El Salvador.

Small world.

Cantspeak for the island itself, but the beach was still muddy at low tide last time i was there windsurfing!

That could be the link...windsurfing, or rather surfing in general. It appears I've ridden into a surfer dude and dudette town. Perhaps he'd windsurfed at Mersea too.

It's warmer here, but the sharks are bigger.

Although I'm not there any longer. I rode across into Costa Rica this morning.
