Worth following as he’s a pretty good reviewer.

Weight a minute ….

Doesn't seem abnormal

30 grand is without the Akra exhaust and the low rider option a lot of money for a motorcycle…If you have already a 1250 probably not worth the upgrade but if despite the lawn mower seized tank and the too quiet exhaust pipe and all new bike teething issues maybe worth it if the dreaded high speed wobble with bags above 120 mph is gone…Well see when we finally get a chance to ride it ! Maybe in 4 years when the foot brake only stops the rear wheel and when the stroke is 80 mm for a full 1400 cc to finally beat the 1250 in 6th gear roll on…🤣

You're mad....that's like saying 'But why don't formula 1 cars go as fast when they tow a caravan behind them during a race.....'

Forged wheels only option for me and its a great cheap bike

120mph is not comfortable and a GS or any bike with a 19" front wheel.
Panniers or no Panniers.

as me auld Mammy used to say..."Jeesus FVcking Wept....."

FFS….give it a rest!

We have heard your gripes about the r1300gs umpteen times now……
We get it, you don’t think the 1300 gs is the right bike for you…..it’s not fast enough, it’s not got a big enough petrol tank, it’s got linked brakes, etc, etc……
Get over it…….. but PLEASE stop posting the same gripes over and over, and over again…..

I never said the new GS is not the right bike for me as I really was excited about the new GS and looked forward to buy one after 5 years on 2 1250’s , one ADV and one regular one with sports /ADV suspension…BUT BMW needs to iron out a few kinks to give me enough wood to open my wallet like I have 19 times before…😉 Some things like tank , linked foot brake and missing taillight would be so easy to rectify and advertising less weight but really the same weight if you fill less in the tank and bit the same battery for the 1250 are cheap tricks that insult the few that know better…Really 4 kilos less if you opt for the great looking forged wheels 👍Will report back if you finally can do top speed with bags/topcase since none of the early adopters are brave enough to give us an honest answer 🤣

Roads in CA are…Bad ! Like the weather…10 feet of snow…Global warming 🤣Did not know that for 800 bucks you get a tire and wheel warranty…I would pass as I rather pay attention not to hit one of those…Only once had a bend rim…Unmarked speed bump in mexico…My own fault accelerating hard out of town and they had una mas…😳

I was late for the ferry once and was two up panniers and cruised around the 110 120 + mark , the bike was steady as a rock , in fact once back down to 70 I felt like I would fall off lol.
The Gs is brilliant at plus 100 mph , the 19 makes little difference for me and find it better in some respects to the roads I like to ride. The new 1300 is even better , you can stay at high speeds and the bike carries its speed well , as did the 1250 , but the 1300 now drops in faster and feels like a sports version. A great bit of kit

You are right about the handling it just seems very effortless and natural, ok most of my bikes were the adventure but this r1300 feels very agile in comparison and belies its published weight. The acceleration is verging sports now too, bang through a couple of gears after going hard on the gas and you are well over speed limits and looking to scrub some speed off!

If you finally can go 145 with bags and topcase without her trying to throw you off I might have to buy one despite the lawnmower tank , missing tail light , linked foot brake , shorter stroke , power sapping taller gears 5 and 6 making the 1250 faster in roll-on and lame exhaust note…What did I forget 😉🤣
